PEET Mundijong residential development

Conducted archaeological surveys, site assessments and excavation program in conjunction with Ethnosciences, Archaeo Logical Pty Ltd, Winjan Aboriginal Corporation and Bilya Noongar Aboriginal Corporation for PEET’s proposed Mundijong residential development.

City of Armadale

Completed a number of projects on behalf of Ethnosciences, including conduct of archaeological surveys and assessments for urban redevelopments, infrastructure developments and dampland projects within the City of Armadale.

Cultural heritage business feasibility study

Provided heritage expertise and support to Keogh Bay Consulting for the conduct of a feasibility study into establishing a heritage service and cultural awareness training businesses for a Pilbara-based Aboriginal Corporation.

Sandfire resources NL

Conducted an archaeological site significance assessment on behalf of de Gand Pty Ltd for Sandfire Resources and delivered artefact identification courses to Sandfire’s exploration staff.

Bauxite Resources Limited

Conducted a comprehensive archaeological assessment and management program in conjunction with Amergin Consulting (Australia) Pty Ltd and Yued native title claimants, for BRL’s Western Australian operations, from exploration to pre-mining phases. This involved desktop reviews, archaeological predictive modelling, archaeological surveys, site recording, cultural heritage management plans and the design and delivery of heritage awareness training and inductions for BRL staff.

Stockland WA (Estates) Pty Ltd

Salvage excavations conducted under section 18 consent for a proposed housing development in the Perth metropolitan region. Undertaken in collaboration with Scarp Archaeology, Ethnosciences and Nyungar community representatives.

We have created numerous fit for purpose cultural heritage management plans (CHMP) and Aboriginal heritage management plans (AHMP) for a variety of clients.

Rio Tinto Ltd

Completed a variety of projects for a number of Rio Tinto business units, including Dampier Salt Ltd, Rio Tinto Ltd and Rio Tinto Iron Ore (Pilbara Iron). Projects included upgrade and development of a cultural heritage management system (CHMS), review and development of policies, standards and guidelines and development and update of the Rio Tinto cultural heritage management auditing protocol and tool kit.

Bauxite Resources Limited

Undertaken several archaeological surveys, site recording and assessments for exploration drilling programs and infrastructure developments for FMG in the Pilbara and Central West–Goldfields.

As a former employee of Hamersley Iron’s Aboriginal Training and Liaison (ATAL) department, Jo has conducted and assisted with over a hundred heritage surveys and field trips within the Pilbara region.

She has also gained extensive experience in field logistics in remote areas, Indigenous community liaison and consultation, project management, design and delivery of training to employees and the Indigenous community, CHMS development and implementation, GIS and audits and reviews (field and system) within a wide range of contexts from conceptual studies through to feasibility, operations and planning for mine closure, large scale infrastructure developments, exploration and evaluation drilling and pastoral.
